About Her Expat Story
Our Vision
Her Expat Story is a project that aims to create a Hong Kong where the experiences of women expatriates of diverse backgrounds are seen, understood, and valued. Through ethnography and art, our project hopes to deepen understanding of gender and class in global mobility. By bringing together researchers, students, creative practitioners, NGOs, and citizens, we aim to challenge singular narratives of migration and foster a truly inclusive community.
Our Mission
To document professional and personal journeys of women expatriates, highlighting their diverse and unique stories.
To build a supportive community with and for these women, facilitating dialogue with locals through mentorship programs and collaborative arts-based workshops.
To transform their lived stories into accessible public knowledge, via websites, social media, a local exhibition, and written works, bridging academic and community audiences
