Migration Map

This migration map visualizes the trajectories of expatriate women, tracing their experiences across geographic locations. Each pathway reflects not only physical movement but also the layered negotiations of belonging, privilege, and precarity that happens within diverse contexts.

To protect confidentiality, all participant names displayed on the website are pseudonyms.

Her Expat Story 

This ethnography of South Asian women expatriates in Hong Kong attempts to understand the intersectionality and conditionality of privilege. 

We explore the journeys and stories of professional women of South Asian heritage who travel to Hong Kong for work, defying the representations of expats as white and male.
